All our products/fabrics are subject to rigorous durability and strength testing as part of the manufacturing process.  Below are just a few of the more commonly used ones across the range. The test applied does vary depending on what’s appropriate for the fabric:

• Tensile strength: This test is to calculate the strength of the cloth with no seams.
• Seam slippage: This tests how strong the fabric is at holding together at a stitched seam before the seam starts to grin.
• Seam strength: This tests how strong the fabric is at holding together at a stitched seam before completely bursting.
• Colour fastness to washing: Ensure the cloth keeps a required amount of colour after washing. This is tested along side various other cloths to see if the colour runs from the main cloth to the others.
• Colour fastness to rubbing wet/ dry: The fabric is rubbed, in both wet and dry conditions against another white cloth to test for colour transfer.
• Abrasion: This tests for the breakdown point of the cloth with continuous rubbing.
• Pilling: Tests for the rate at which the cloth pills.
